ISTeCC

Information Services and Technologies Coordinating Council (ISTeCC) is a venue for all-University IT leadership discussions of IT-related issues.

ISTeCC consists of a primary member appointed by each dean or assistant vice president. An Academic Group meets separately to discuss matters that are of particular interest to the colleges and academic programs (for most units, the Academic Group participant is the same as their ISTeCC participant; for some they are different individuals). Michigan State's Vice Provost for Libraries and IT Services and CIO convenes the groups.

ISTeCC and the Academic Group each meet on a monthly basis (meetings are canceled in advance if there are no agenda topics). ISTeCC is scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Room I of the Eyde Hannah Technology Research Center (HTRC). The Academic Group is scheduled for the fourth Thursday of the month from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., in Room I of the Eyde Hannah Technology Research Center (HTRC).

All MAU-level CIOs/CTOs and IT-focused academic/business managers are welcomed to attend either meeting as agenda topics interest them. A single ISTeCC mailing list is used to inform all participants of upcoming meetings and agenda topics.

Academic Group

The Academic Group is a sub-group of ISTeCC convened to provide a smaller-scale venue to address information services and technologies topics specific to the academic mission. In most instances, a unit's Academic Group participant is the same as their primary ISTeCC participant, but sometimes a unit will appoint a different individual to participate in each.

Due to the highly-overlapping membership and topical interests of ISTeCC and the Academic Group, a single mailing list is used to inform all participants about meetings and agenda topics, and participants of either group are always welcomed at either meeting. The Academic Group is intended to help LCT and the academic units set coordinated directions for infrastructure and services design, implementation and operating directions. Michigan State's Vice Provost for Libraries and IT Services and CIO convenes the group monthly. The Academic Group is scheduled for the fourth Thursday of the month from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., in Room I of the Eyde Hannah Technology Research Center (HTRC).
